  1. The light which enters inside your eye falls on the retina of the eye. The image that is formed on the retina is actually the inverted (upside-down) image. But your brain finally shows it right away.
  2. New-born babies see everything upside down for some period of time, but no one really knows how long. 


  3. When babies are born, they cry, but they do not shed tears because the tear gland does not fully develop in children for some time. They start crying with tears only after 5-6 weeks.
  4. The new-born babies see everything in black and white up to 3 to 4 months. That means all babies are colour blind at birth.
  5. After the brain, the eye is considered the most complex part of the body.
  6. A healthy human eye has three types of cone cells red, green and blue, each of which can distinguish about 100 different color shades, therefore most researchers say that we can distinguish around a million shades of colors
  7. Our eye is more powerful than any camera in the world. If we talk about megapixels, a healthy eye is around 576 megapixels.
  8. The weight of the eyeball is around 28 grams. Our eyes are made up of over 2 million (20 lakh) working parts which works together to give you a good vision.
  9. We blink our eyelids about 28000 times a day. And the blink time of an eyelid is about 0.3s to 0.4s.
  10. About more than 80% of our memories are laid down by what we see.
